Saint Ego Editions · For Photographers

Series, Not Grids

A photographer's website has one job a general portfolio site does not. It has to hold an edit. Most templates cannot, because they were drawn as a field of equal cells, and an edit is never equal. Essentials, at 49 USD, is being drawn the other way round, from the sequence outward.

An editorial Framer website template for photographers, built for series, captions, credits and print enquiries. Editions in development, early access by email.

On saleTwo Editions are on sale today, Les Gourmands and Aperture Office. Complete React source, the original photography included. Single licence 89 USD, one published website. Studio licence 179 USD, up to five.

Why the grid loses the edit

A series, and the single frame

Galleries on a phone

The mobile layout is drawn separately, not scaled down from desktop. A desktop pair becomes a single column with real space between frames, and the sequence survives the change.
Weight is a decision you are making on someone else's behalf, usually on a moving train. Framer serves responsive image sets and defers offscreen images, so a sixty frame series does not arrive at once.
A long series is chaptered or paginated rather than dumped. The phone loads what is in front of the reader, then the next movement, which keeps the first frame fast.
Tap to enlarge is optional, not compulsory. A full screen viewer that traps the scroll and hides the back gesture loses more readers than it impresses.
Captions sit below the frame on mobile, in small type, where they can be read. Nothing is placed over the image, because a phone has no hover state to hide it again.
The first screen is one photograph and your name, not a slider. A photographer's home page has to work in the two seconds before someone decides whether to keep scrolling.

Status and the price grid

Essentials, 49 USD. The one purpose tier and the fit for most photographers: a body of work, a considered about page, a contact route, and the structure to keep a series in order.
Edition, single licence, one site, 89 USD launch pricing. The larger multi page architecture with several CMS collections, for a studio publishing commissioned work, personal work and print releases in parallel.
Edition Studio, up to five sites, 179 USD. For a photographer who also runs a second identity, a print label, or a collaborative project under its own name.
The Saint Ego Collection, three Editions, 219 USD.
Nothing is on sale yet. The hospitality Edition is in development, Vellum, Atelier and Essentials are in design, and the figures above are launch prices rather than current prices. There is no struck through figure and there will be no discount code.
A commissioned Saint Ego website, designed from zero rather than remixed, starts around 3,500 EUR. Early access to the Editions is by email only, hello@saint-ego.studio.
